People will be joining our Community of Faith in membership on Pentecost, May 20, 2018. Here are a few FAQ's about membership:
Q: What is the difference between being a member, and just attending FBCM?
A: Attendees can do almost everything members can do with three exceptions: Members can vote at meetings. Members can be on the Leadership team. Members can serve as church officers.
Q: I'm in! I've attended one of the new member's classes in the past. What do I do in order to join the church?
A: Notify Pastor Linda of your intention to join the church. Be here on May 20 to be received into membership.
Q: I've been attending for a while, am interested in membership, but have not been to a new members class.
A: Sign up for the new members class, to be held April 29, directly after worship.
Q: I'm not sure about membership, but I would like to know more about the church. How can I learn about FBCM?
A: You are welcome to come to the new members class on April 29. We will answer as many of your questions as possible and have some fun at the same time.
To Church Family and Friends: There will be a memorial service for Ross Bennett on Saturday, April 28th, at 3:00 pm here at the First Baptist Church of Moorestown. All are invited. More information will follow.
CROP Walk set for Sunday, May 6th: Save the date! For those not familiar with the walk, it solicits donations to fight hunger both globally and locally. Monies raised by participants through per-mile pledges as well as contributions from the public support programs of Church World Service, a joint Christian ministry organization of 37 different denominations, as well as the work of three local church-based food pantries in Moorestown that combat hunger in the community.
Please note that anyone interested in joining in the CROP Walk should contact John Khanlian to sign up and get a pledges envelope. You can also register on line as a walker at www.crophungerwalk.org/moorestownnj so that you can solicit additional donations via credit card.
FBC's Book Group has chosen "The Woman in the Window," by A.J. Finn as the book to read in April. It will be discussed on Sunday, April 29. For May we will read "Stone's Fall" by Iain Pears. If you like to read, come and join us! We have fun during our book discussions.
Alliance of Baptists Annual Gathering - Thursday, April 26 through Sunday, April 29, at Harmony Creek Church in Dayton, Ohio. “Alliance of Baptists’ members and supporters will gather for a time of fellowship and faith… Uniting under the theme Earth: Beloved Community, participants will be empowered and equipped to recognize the intersectionalities of justice embedded in life on earth, seek God’s peace and justice in the communion of life on earth, and return to their local communities as an embodiment of Christ’s reconciling spirit so all might be known as beloved.” Contact Cathy at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
